In celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday, Epworth Choir held a concert featuring music for choir, brass and organ. The programme featured many well-known pieces such as Zadok the Priest, I Was Glad and Coronation Anthems.
The Epworth Choir, which was established over 50 years ago, has a long tradition of supporting local charities. For this concert, the choir raised funds for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, which provides vital support and end of life care across West Surrey and North East Hampshire to patients and families affected by cancer or other serious progressive illness.
The choir’s Musical Director, Michael Waldron, said recently “Our Queen has broken two records. She’s our longest lived and our longest reigning monarch. With her 90th birthday this year, we wanted to celebrate by holding a concert with music fit for a queen!”
