Epworth choir continued to rehearse weekly via Zoom during the spring of 2021, and following our online success Handel’s Messiah, we turned to folk song for the summer.

We sang a wide range of folk songs arranged by Copeland, Britton and Hywel Davies.

Handel’s Messiah Workshops

We’re delighted to share details of a series of workshops Michael and Laurence will be running based around Handel’s Messiah

These workshops are aimed at everyone, and particularly those of you who may not have felt comfortable singing online. Only the vocal health workshop will involve any active participation. All the other sessions will take the form of relaxed and informal presentations, where we can explore this amazing piece of music in a bit more detail, alongside developing our musicianship skills.

They are intended to be totally inclusive and collaborative: there will be opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts.

The sessions will run fortnightly, starting on Monday 1 February at 2-3pm. They will be recorded and uploaded online for those who cannot join live.

The Zoom link for all the sessions is:

I heartily encourage you all to join – especially those of you who haven’t been singing since we moved online. Please spread the word to anyone you feel might like to tune in.

Broadway Revue

Rehearsed online during the COVID-19 pandemic, an upbeat performance of many of the best-loved melodies from the rich heritage of Broadway. From Rogers and Hammerstein, Bernstein, Cole Porter and George Gershwin through to the present day, there really was something to get every foot tapping.

This was our first in-person concert since the start of the pandemic. We welcomed a small number of friends and family of the choir on Wednesday 10th November 2021 at 7.30pm in Trinity Methodist Church, Woking.

But fear not if you missed it, we also for the first time welcomed a virtual audience live on Zoom – and you can find a recording of the concert here.

We are supporting Woking Street Angels this season and you can still donate up to £10 via text message, please text the message WSA and the £ amount (e.g. WSA £5) to 70085.
